Zoe Sugg is a 25-year-old, UK beauty, fashion, and lifestyle blogger, YouTuber, and author. Her blog, “Zoella” began in February 2009, while she was working at an interior design company. It took off and by the end of 2009 it had a thousand followers. As of September 2015 it had received over 540 million visits. Her YouTube channel began that same year while working for a clothing retailer.

Zoe’s main channel, Zoella, currently has over 10 million subscribers. She does fashion, beauty hauls, some collaborations and monthly favorite product videos. Zoe is known for her collaborations with other famous YouTuber’s.

She also has a second channel, called MoreZoella that currently has close to four million subscribers. It contains mostly daily vlogs — where she videos herself throughout the day, doing everyday things. In fact, in December 2014, she was criticized for filming while driving. A metropolitan police officer said, “She could have killed someone. How can anyone who has their eyes off the road for that amount of time be in complete control of a vehicle?” Zoe’s spokesperson responded, “at the time of filming she was mostly in stationary traffic.”The fame has brought plenty of criticism for various things.

Zoe signed a two-book deal in 2014 and the first book, Girl Online, was released on November 25, 2014. It is written for a young adult audience, telling the story of a 15-year-old blogger and the events that occur when her blog goes viral. Although it sounds like her own life story, Zoe has said that is it “in no way an autobiographical.” Her book achieved “the highest first-week sales for a debut author since records began in 1998,” — 17,109 copies and as of December 2014, it is also the fastest selling book of the year. It has been said that she hired a ghostwriter but Zoe denies that that is the case. The sequel, Girl Online: On Tour, was released on October 20, 2015.

Zoe recently launched her own beauty line, Zoella Beauty, in September 2014. It is a multitude of bath and beauty products and according the Metro, the “biggest beauty launch of the year.”
